Why does firefox update so often?!?

Why does firefox update so often?!? I've noticed we've went through 5 Firefox versions in less than 3 months. (from v3.6 to version8.0 now.) What on earth is going on?!

Because firefox does not update automatically in the background, firebox 10 may be provided update automatically in the background, so you do not need to manually update frequently
